Notoro PassportNoToro Passport — Terms & Conditions
Version 1.0 · Effective July 10, 2026
These terms apply to passports issued on or after the effective date above. If you received your passport before that date, the terms in effect when you received it are the ones that apply to you. See “Version history” at the bottom.
The short version
You earn: Buy any handroll, get one Classic Handroll free. 5–7pm daily, dine-in only, one per calendar day, for one year from the date of your third stamp. A handroll purchase is required every time you claim, and you’ll need a smartphone to claim it.
You earn it by: Spending at least $20 per person on food, before tax and tip, dining in at each of our three Locations, and collecting a stamp at each. Alcohol doesn’t count toward the $20. You can pay with a gift card; buying one doesn’t count.
Deadline: All three stamps by August 31, 2026. Last day to pick up a new passport is August 20, 2026.
Everything below is the detail. If anything here contradicts the short version, the detail governs — but we’ve worked to make sure it doesn’t.
1. Definitions
1.1 “We,” “us,” and “our” mean the three companies that operate the Locations listed in 1.3 — Matsu Nori Inc, Mai Izakaya LLC, and NoriNori Test Kitchen LLC — together. Each of them is bound by these terms. Whichever Location you’re standing in will honor your reward, no matter which of the three you earned your stamps at.
1.2 “NoToro” is the name we trade under. It isn’t a separate company, and the three companies named in 1.1 are the ones making the promises in this document.
1.3 “Locations” means these three restaurants, and only these three:
| Location | Address | Operated by |
|---|---|---|
| Matsunori Handroll Bar | 900 Beacon St, Unit A, Boston, MA 02215 | Matsu Nori Inc |
| Mai | 31 Northern Ave, Boston, MA 02210 | Mai Izakaya LLC |
| Norinori Test Kitchen | 399 Chestnut Hill Ave, Brookline, MA 02445 | NoriNori Test Kitchen LLC |
1.4 “Passport” means the physical NoToro Passport booklet issued to you, bearing a unique passport number.
1.5 “Account” means the NoToro Passport account created for you when you complete your passport, accessed through our web portal.
1.6 “Classic Handroll” means any handroll listed in the Classic section of our menu at the time you claim it. Our menu changes over time, but the Classic section will always contain at least three (3) options for the duration of any active Reward Period. If we ever discontinue the Classic section entirely, we’ll substitute a handroll of equivalent regular price and let affected Account holders know.
1.7 “Reward Period” means the twelve (12) months beginning on the date your third stamp is applied.
2. Getting a passport
2.1 Passports are free and available at any Location while supplies last.
2.2 We write a unique passport number on your passport when we issue it. That number is what links your passport to your Account later, and a passport without one isn’t valid.
2.3 Last day to receive a new passport: August 20, 2026. After that we stop issuing, because there wouldn’t be enough time left to finish one.
2.4 One passport per person. If you complete a passport, you can’t start another.
2.5 Employees of NoToro and members of their immediate households aren’t eligible.
2.6 Our other restaurants aren’t part of this program. Matsunori Handroll Bar in Long Island City, New York, and any Matsunori, Norinori, or other NoToro restaurant that opens during the program — including the planned MarketStreet Lynnfield location — are not Participating Locations. They can’t stamp your passport and can’t honor your reward. If we add a Location later, we’ll announce it here, and it’ll apply to everyone with an active passport.
3. Earning stamps
3.1 To earn a stamp, spend at least $20 per person on food, before tax and tip, in a single dine-in visit to a Location.
3.2 Alcohol does not count toward the $20. The threshold is food only.
3.3 The $20 is per person, per visit. For everyone in your party to be stamped, your food total must be at least $20 × the number of people. A party of three needs $60 of food before tax and tip. If your party of three spends $45 on food, we can stamp two passports.
3.4 Buying a gift card doesn’t count toward the $20. Paying with one does. If you use a NoToro gift card to pay for $20 of food, that’s a qualifying visit. If you buy a $20 gift card, that purchase doesn’t count toward the threshold — only the food does.
3.5 Stamps are earned on dine-in visits only. Takeout, delivery, catering, and third-party apps don’t earn stamps.
3.6 One stamp per Location, per passport. You need all three.
3.7 You can earn all three stamps on the same day if you want to.
3.8 Stamps are applied by our staff at the time of payment. We can’t add one later from a receipt.
3.9 Your passport must be present to be stamped.
4. Completing your passport, and your Account
4.1 All three stamps must be collected by 11:59pm on August 31, 2026. Passports not completed by then expire, and no reward is earned.
4.2 When your third stamp is applied, our staff will take your name and mobile number in person, and create your Account. This is a separate step from paying your bill — our staff will never ask for your number while running your card.
4.3 We’ll send you one text message with a link to your Account. Message and data rates may apply. See Section 9.
4.4 You’ll be asked to review and accept these terms when you activate your Account. Your Reward Period doesn’t depend on that — it starts at your third stamp either way (see 4.5) — but you can’t claim rewards until your Account is active.
4.5 Your Reward Period begins the moment you complete your passport — when your third stamp is applied and we create your Account, in store, on the same visit. It runs twelve months from that date.
4.6 The text arriving and you activating don’t move that date. But if a technical problem on our end delays your access to your Account, tell us (Section 12) and we’ll extend your Reward Period by the days you lost.
4.7 One Account per passport number. A passport number that already has an Account can’t be used to open another.
5. The reward
5.1 During your Reward Period, with the purchase of any handroll, you receive one Classic Handroll free.
5.2 A handroll purchase is required each time you claim. This is a buy-one-get-one offer. The free Classic Handroll isn’t available on its own.
5.3 The reward is available:
- Between 5:00pm and 7:00pm
- Dine-in only
- At any Location open that evening (see 10.3)
- One free Classic Handroll per calendar day, across all Locations combined — not one per Location per day
5.4 Unused days don’t roll over, accumulate, or carry forward.
5.5 The reward has no cash value and can’t be exchanged for cash, credit, gift cards, or anything else.
5.6 The reward is not transferable. Your Account and passport are valid only for the person named on them, and we may ask for identification.
5.7 The reward can’t be combined with other promotions or discounts.
5.8 The reward is subject to availability. If we’ve sold out of Classic Handrolls on a given evening, that day’s reward isn’t available and doesn’t roll over.
5.9 Tax is calculated on the amount actually charged.
6. How to claim
6.1 You’ll need a smartphone with a working data connection to claim your reward. Claims are made through your Account in our web portal.
6.2 To claim: open your Account between 5:00pm and 7:00pm while dining in, tap to claim, and show the code to your server. Codes are valid for 10 minutes.
6.3 A code only uses up your daily reward once our staff validates it. If your code expires before you show it, or you don’t use it, that day is untouched — claim again.
6.4 Both generating and redeeming the code must happen between 5:00pm and 7:00pm. A code generated at 6:55pm has to be validated by 7:00pm.
6.5 If the app isn’t working — dead phone, no signal, outage, or you left it at home — ask for a manager. We’ll verify your identity against your Account and apply the reward manually. You shouldn’t lose a day because our technology had a bad night.
6.6 Codes are single-use and tied to your Account. Sharing codes voids your passport (see Section 7).
7. Lost, damaged, and altered passports
7.1 Before completion: if you lose your passport, you’ll need to start over with a new one. Stamps aren’t recorded anywhere until your third stamp, so we have no way to verify what you’d collected.
7.2 After completion: your reward lives in your Account, not the booklet. If you lose the physical passport after completing it, your Account is unaffected.
7.3 A passport that’s been photocopied, scanned, reproduced, or altered, or that bears stamps we didn’t apply, is void.
7.4 We may void a passport or Account, decline to issue a passport, decline to apply a stamp, or decline a claim where we reasonably believe there’s been fraud, misrepresentation, or abuse — including reproduced passports, stamps not earned through qualifying purchases, shared codes, or use by someone other than the person named on the Account.
7.5 We may refuse service to any individual to the extent permitted by law.
8. Changes to the program
8.1 We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the NoToro Passport program at any time.
8.2 Changes apply only to passports issued after the change is posted here. If you already have a passport, the terms in effect the day it was issued to you are the terms that apply, and we’ll honor them for your full Reward Period.
8.3 Every version of these terms is dated and archived below, so you can always see which one applies to you.
9. Your name and phone number
9.1 We collect your name and mobile number at one moment — when you complete your passport — for one purpose: to create your Account and send you the link.
9.2 We’ll send you exactly one text: a link to your Account. It’ll include STOP and HELP instructions.
9.3 We won’t send you marketing texts using this number. If you want to hear from us, there’s a separate sign-up with its own opt-in. Agreeing to marketing is never a condition of getting a passport or claiming your reward.
9.4 We don’t sell your number.
9.5 We take your number in person at completion, as a separate step from payment. Our staff will never ask for it while running your card.
9.6 Our full privacy policy is at passport.notoro.group/privacy.
10. If a Location closes or changes
10.1 If a Location permanently closes before you complete your passport, stamps from that Location stay valid and you can finish at the remaining ones. If fewer than three Locations are open, your passport is complete once you have a stamp from each one still operating.
10.2 If a Location permanently closes during your Reward Period, the remaining Locations honor your reward for the rest of your Reward Period.
10.3 We’re normally open 5–7pm every day at all three Locations, but not always. If a Location is temporarily closed — holiday, private event, renovation, weather, emergency — claim at another Location that evening instead.
10.4 On the rare day when no Location is open, the reward isn’t available and that day doesn’t roll over. We post closures on our social channels and at each Location as far ahead as we can.
10.5 If a Location is sold and stops operating as a NoToro restaurant, it’s treated as a permanent closure under 10.1 and 10.2 — your stamps stay valid and the remaining Locations honor your reward.
11. General
11.1 This isn’t a sweepstakes, contest, or game of chance. No drawing, no luck. Everyone who completes a passport by the deadline earns the reward.
11.2 These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
11.3 The three companies named in 1.1 are each fully responsible for the promises in this document. You don’t need to work out which one you’re dealing with — any of them will honor your reward, and any of them can answer for the program.
11.4 Nothing here limits any rights you have under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 93A or any other consumer protection law.
11.5 If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
11.6 If something here is unclear or seems wrong, tell us before you assume the worst — Section 12. We’d rather fix it than argue about it.
